That’s an awfully bad choice for the topic of this post but it kind of amused me . It was a very interesting election though. Being in Australia, we tend to take little interest in american politics but it seems like the whole world was watching this last one to see if you guys and gals would elect a black president.

The aftermath was just as interesting .. seeing the way the press reacted. Some journalists were definitely pushing the whole Martin Luther King angle while others were going to great lengths to play it down. I can understand that though. One would like to think that Obama was elected based on his experience, judgement and character rather than the colour of his skin. At the same time it’s obvious that a lot of people who wouldn’t have voted in previous elections came out to support their preferred candidate.

Only time will tell whether it is the right choice of course. On the surface he seems like the right guy for the job and we will find out next year whether he really is. All I can say is good luck USA … I hope you made the right decision and that over the next presidential term or two he can get you guys back on track.
